Update

I stopped updating tutorials for two reasons:
A) I went on some vacations + the Holidays got in the way
B) I want to finish this for No Coaster Con and posting tutorials takes away time from finishing it... so I will have to back-track and post later.

Tutorial update

Contributor: Badnitrus Link(s): Tutorials

So I suddenly have some free time, and I have decided to start a new project instead of finishing older ones, as usual.  But this time I am doing something different.  Instead of posting some progress pictures, and then the final animation, I am going to be showing everyone an in-depth look at how I create these animations from beginning to end.  It might be more information that you ever wanted to know, but it might be insightful as well.  You can then see how much work goes into one animation, and appreciate the amount of time that goes into the entire process.  And if you are an aspiring 3d modeler, you might learn something too! So head to the tutorial section which is located in the "more" part of this site.  Follow the link above for a direct link.  Hopefully this won't take more than a month from beginning to end, but who knows....

Update

Contributor: Badnitrus Link(s): n/a

This is probably the longest I have ever gone without updating the site.  It just seems that there isn't as much time in a day anymore! Or I am getting old and it hurts my eyes more sitting at a computer screen these days.  I do PLAN on updating more, it just seems that something always comes up, and the more I do these models and animations, the more quality I put into them, and therefore they take way more time to complete.

Anyway, updates will come sometime... I would say before year's end but I can't even guarantee that unfortunately.  I do have to start looking for a real full time job so hopefully there is time for a little of everything in the next few months...

Update

As usual, I have been lagging in updates and the site is still a mess of pages I have to redo and fix.  There are a few broken links and pages still not yet done... But I will most certainly be fixing them as soon as I get the chance.  I will be on vacation until August 12th, and so I will not get a chance to fix anything until then.  What can I say, I just graduated college and like not being on my computer at the moment.

New site design + New features!

Contributor: Badnitrus Link(s): Every link!

Check out the new site design! I've wanted to change it for a while, but never really had the time.  I'll try to make this the last site re-design for a while so that I can focus a lot more on the actual content! Now that I have graduated college and have no full time job, I should be able to update a lot more, so keep checking back for further updates! As of now there isn't really a whole lot of new content, but feel free to look around.  I'll add more when I get back from vacation in a week and a half!

**Note: About 7 of the coasters are missing pages on this website.  I ran out of time compiling them, but they will be up when I return from vacation in early July.  There may also be a lot of links that don't point to the right places, but most of what is up here should work.  I just wanted to put up the new site as soon as possible.  So hang in there in the meantime! Thanks.

New to Badnitrus are the following:

Features: News - same as before, except presented differently
Models - now choose from real or imaginary coaster models, models of rides, and models of coaster trains!
Pics - view pictures taken by Badnitrus of coasters from all over, or view pictures from coaster events or trips that have been taken!
More - here you will find the "About Us" section, as well as coming tutorials for creating coasters the way we do it in 3d Studio Max! Also, future sections such as contests will be added to this section.
FAQ - same FAQ as before, but slightly updated and with a new interface!

Icons: Also new are the following icons, which are displayed underneath the main overview pictures for the models:
High Resolution Overview Coaster Layout Quicktime VR*

Click on this icon to view a higher resolution image of the overview image located at the top of every page.

Click on this icon to view the layout of the model, which may include a profile view and/or a top view of the model.

Click on this icon to access a virtual 3d image of the model, where you can click and drag to view it from almost any angle!

*Note: Quicktime VRs will be available as soon as I purchase the software and learn how to use it.  I still have to read into this, but I would like to incorporate this feature into the site, hopefully by mid-July. Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoy the new interface and look forward for more to come!
